Sitter och väntar på en invite till voddler. Tyvärr är jag inte en som har bredbandsbolaget så jag får gott vänta. Såg dock att de utökar invitesen nu så det kanske kommer en snart.

Jag har funderat lite på det där med voddler jämfört med spotify. Spotify har ju blivit en hit, har dock hört lite gnäll från skivbolagen att de tjänar för lite pengar. Så då började de sälja musiken också direkt i spotify. Men iallafall som jag antar att spotify fungerar är att varje gång en låt spelas så går si å så mkt pengar till bolagen. Men om man jämför det med filmer så ser man ju på en film en gång, sen har man sett den. Låtar lyssnar man ju om och om igen. Hur har de tänkt att det ska funka med voddler?

Om alla i Sverige ser på en film så blir det typ 9 miljoner “views”, och om då bolaget får 1 kr per view vilket känns vääldigt mkt, så är det ändå bara 9 miljoner kronor. Kommer det räcka?

Anyhoo så är tjänsten nått jag vill ha bara det inte kostar för mkt!

Citrix Web Interface, CSG and Windows 2008 NLB

So i wanted to update to the new web interface from 4.6 to 5.2. I also wanted to use 2008 servers with NLB, couldn’t make it work with 4.6 and server 2003. So i took 2 new servers and did a fresh install. I got the web interfaces configured so that they worked properly, and installed Citrix Secure Gateway on each of the WI:s. Then came the fun part to get the NLB working.

To get windows NLB working at all, all the servers has to be on the same subnet and there cant me more than 32 servers in the cluster.

I’m using multicast since i only have a single network card on the servers and my network infrastructure supports it, which many different routers aren’t, since you are having 2 mac:s on a single nic. If i had nics i would use unicast. One nic for administrating and one nic for the cluster.

And i specify the NLB address on the same subnet as the two servers. And using the default port rules which is basically saying to use nlb on all ports.

Next step is to configure the CSG, in which I’ve already has configured the basic settings, certificate, ssl and so on. But i need the change the monitoring of inbound connections where i specify the CSG to listen on the NLB address. And ofc do this on both WI/CSG servers.

And that’s it. Now i have a working NLB on my Citrix Web Interface.

On an another note i discovered i couldn’t force ssl in the IIS otherwise it gave me errors when the csg used http to fetch the web pages from the iis and then presenting them as https.

Yeah you! I challenge you to go on a treasure hunt and see if you can find more caches than me! Up top of this page there is a tab named “Geocaching” where i will post all of your badges in correct order, if you give them to me that is. Currently ive found one cache but will go for more this weekend. All you need is some kind of GPS like in your phone or a real GPS. And you register on the page Geocaching and put in your address and you will see on a map all the caches around your place. Then you find you’re badge in settings and give it to me! Then you’re off treasure hunting!

Ok so i got my key for the windows 7 beta. But i dont know if i want to upgrade and risk wiping my working vista due to 7 being a beta. But i really want to try it! Anyone out there who has heard if it has broken for anyone or if I should be safe upgrading?
